Nine Twenty are currently recruiting for Production Supervisors to be based in the Renfrewshire area on a permanent basis.

Successful candidates will be working with one of Europe's largest leather production facilities providing high quality out-puts for the automotive sector.

Ideal candidates will be driven and determined to deliver excellent consistency and demonstrate a positive can do attitude and behaviour.

The main purpose of the role will be to supervise, develop and execute production plan whilst ensuring production efficiencies are optimised and all SOP, Safe Systems of Work, and Technical Specification documents are adhered to.  To lead, motivate and develop all personnel in areas of responsibility to allow them to achieve their full potential.  Pursue excellence and clarity in production scheduling and analysis, and communicate clearly what is required of the production team.  To manage and control receipt and inputting of raw materials and to ensure all quality checks are being carried out by the machine operators such as viscosity, add-on, 1 in 30 visual checks for contamination and manufacturing faults, 1 in 65 for colour and correct number of times batches are transferred.

Individuals will be measured on meeting lab criteria, quality of output, internal OTIF deliveries for the department, production efficiency targets and that departmental rework, rejects and downgrade level are all within set limits for manufacturing faults.

Other duties will include:

  • Manage the throughput of all batches for both R&D and production and ensure both efficiency and quality are optimised.
  • To ensure that the machine operators have set up their machines correctly and all safety checks have been carried out.
  • Launching production batches from PRE-WIP when required.
  • Takes ownership for ensuring all housekeeping duties are met such as gun cleaning and safe working are promoted and that housekeeping standards are maintained whilst ensuring all team members participate in these activities.
  • Responsible for ensuring all Health and Safety standards are achieved and any concerns are reported to line manager.
  • Carry out investigations for accidents, near misses, grievances and disciplinary matters promptly and thoroughly to ensure the correct outcome is achieved on time, every time.
  • Ensure adequate personnel are available at all times to meet production targets whilst ensuring the headcount is as lean as possible and highlight any issues to line manager at the earliest opportunity.
