An opportunity has popped up with an award winning and growing business who are developing mobile and web games for clients across numerous continents. This is a rare opportunity to work in the free to play games industry, using the science of gamification to make user engagement simple.

Based in the heart of Edinburgh but now fully remote, this business is going through exciting growth and working with big household names across the globe. This could be your opportunity to innovate and lead in their already successful product suite. The business specialises in helping its clients acquire, retain and monetise customers via web and mobile apps in the form of free to play games.

This role is a new addition to the business, where you will work with the clients and internal teams in order create the best possible products for the client and also innovate and improve the existing products. You will have proven experience in product growth and understanding consumers behaviours to aid in call to actions.

Job Brief 

You will join the team as a Product Owner, reporting directly to the executive board. You will build a variety of games for clients, as well as guide the developers and designers in creating the look and feel of of games to best appeal to clients and customers. Once the games are live you will be responsible for continually improving products and innovating to stay ahead of the curve.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to

  • Collaborating with other technical and design team members to deliver applications on time and on budget. 
  • Share information in a readable and understandable manner to executive team with reports on current products and vision for future games and features.
  • Solve customer needs and market problems by collaborating with designers to produce wireframes and market leading user experiences.
  • Maintain a healthy backlog for current and future sprints
  • Attend daily stand-ups and contribute to team planning sessions 
  • Stay abreast of digital tools, platforms and industry trends. 

Requirements 

  • Experience in creating engaging applications
  • Has experience of Growth Hacking
  • Experience in working with designers and developers
  • In-depth knowledge of a range of sports
  • In-depth knowledge of gamification mechanics
  • In-depth knowledge of popular applications
  • Able to work well in an agile environment, where requirements are still in flux 
  • Great interpersonal skills 
  • Problem-solving aptitude, ability to think on your feet and action solutions 
  • Enjoy working closely with others as part of a close-knit team 

Other useful experience and skills

  • Experience of using Figma and other design technologies 
  • Development experience and some ability in basic programming.  
  • Google Analytics experience
  • Previous exposure to a start-up environment
