Are you an experienced Product Design Engineer? Do you have experienced using Solidworks or CAD Software? Do you have PCB Design experience? Do you have a good understanding of volume manufacture, modelling & simulation & high precision engineering? Are you experienced in FMEA, DFX & Risk Analysis? Then read on.

Nine Twenty are working with our well known Medical Device Manufacturing client who are on the look out for a Product Design Engineer to join their team permanently.

You will work within the Design team and be involved NPD, Mechanical Design & Instrument design development. 

Responsibilities:

  • Managing projects to timescales & plans 
  • Concept Generation, Specification development, Design Development & CAD Development
  • FMEA & Risk Analysis: Participate or lead FMEA & RA activities 
  • Tooling Development: Liaise with and manage tooling and prototype part suppliers 
  • Mechanical analysis: Use appropriate methods to perform mechanical analysis of designs
  • Create robust characterisation and test methods
  • Verification/Traceability: Be able to maintain accurate and up to date records of all work carried out in accordance with the quality team/regulatory requirements
  • Change & Configuration Control – Ensure change is managed effectively through development in accordance with the quality system

Skills required:

  • Degree qualified in mechanical/product design or similar 
  • Experienced in CAD or Solidworks 
  • Must have experience in FMEA/FEA
  • Must have experience in DFX
  • Must have experience in Risk Analysis
  • Instrument design experience (medical device would be an advantage)
  • A great problem solver & innovative 
  • Ability to complete and manage documentation
  • Ability to manage external suppliers 
  • Have the agility to work in a fast paced & ever changing environment & be self driven 
  • Be open to travel occasionally & liaise with local manufacturing partners 
  • Ensure compliance standards are met (FDA Submission & CE marking)
