Planning & Scheduling Engineer

Our client is an innovative, market leading producer within the food & drink sector. Due to ongoing investment in both plant and people, they now have an exciting opportunity for a talented Planning & Scheduling Engineer to join their team in Ayrshire.

Reporting to, and working closely with the Engineering Leader, the main purpose of this role is to develop, implement, monitor, manage and maintain the planning and scheduling systems, documentation, data and processes relating to all assets covered by the site maintenance and engineering strategy to optimise resource utilisation an continually reduce the likelihood of plant failure.

Key responsibilities include:

  • The creation of detailed maintenance activity plans
  • Develop and implement pro-active planning process for a rolling minimum of 4 weekly look ahead
  • Manage and control resources in order to facilitate the maintenance and engineering activity plans
  • Develop and manage relationships with key service providers including equipment overhaul/ refurbishment and pro-actively manage quality critical hold points
  • Prepare and review defined KPI suite to demonstrate compliance with maintenance and engineering strategy
  • Manage the MRP requirements ensuring that spares and materials stockholding matches maintenance and engineering demand for components
  • Review reorder suggestions, checking reorder levels, quantities and stock holding to ensure compliance with the maintenance and engineering strategy and updating of the BOM system
  • Manage the MRP purchase to pay process, including requisitions, purchase orders, good receipt notes and invoice validation
  • Lead, motivate and develop the maintenance planning team in line with the company values to maximise employee engagement

The Person

With significant experience and knowledge of CMMS, Planning and Scheduling software and underpinning theories, you will have a minimum five years’ experience within a planning & scheduling within an FMCG environment.

You should also have solid hands-on practical engineering experience involving mechanical, electrical or process engineering and have an engineering qualification.

A self-driven, self-starter who is able to work on their own initiative, you will be an exceptional communicator with excellent interpersonal, influencing, planning and implementation skills and a pragmatic problem solver.
