We are on the hunt for three PHP Software Engineers to join the Glasgow office!
As a PHP Software Engineer, you’ll have a broad understanding of the technologies which make up an application, with a deeper knowledge of some areas.
You’ll be capable of making decisions on technologies that you’re not an expert in, by synthesising information provided to you by the project team.
As a PHP Software Engineer, you will be involved in projects during a number of stages in their life cycle.
Your key responsibilities & duties will include, but will not be limited to:
- Working with senior technical staff to choose architecture and most appropriate technologies for the project.
- Undertaking code reviews, and providing evaluation and feedback on the production of work.
- Build efficient, testable, and reusable PHP packages.
- Solve complex performance problems and architectural challenges.
- Integration of data storage solutions.
- Attending project retrospectives and contributing as appropriate.
- Team player - You’re able to work effectively in team.
- Take ownership of development of core platforms and systems.
- Work with the business to maintain scale and develop new features and functions across platforms.
- Input ideas in early stage project scoping whilst being free to contribute to improvement of platforms.
Essential experience:
- Minimum 2 years application development experience in PHP required.
- We would love to see one of the following: Symfony, Laravel or any MVC framework.
- An understanding of big data and associated database challenges.
- Consuming and developing REST APIs.
- SCSS/CSS and HTML development experience.
Preferred experience in any of the follow:
- VueJS, GULP, Webpack.
- Mobile focused.
- Strong front-end skills, JavaScript and JavaScript framework development experience.
- Social platform API’s.
- Kannel & SMPP.
- AWS infrastructure.
- Exposure to Docker and Kubernetes.
- Continuous Integration / Continuous Deployment.
