Our client is seeking an Operations Manager to lead their growing and busy site in West of Scotland. This is a brilliant opportunity to join at a time of growth and investment on their journey to be the leader in their field. 

They are seeking someone who comes from an FMCG background and is a passionate leader of people, someone who knows their numbers, someone who understands the planning processes and someone who can help develop new and better ways of working as the site continues to grow. The business is around £7m turnover and is seeing further investment to take it to the next stage. You will look after teams in Production, engineering and planning and will report directly into the Managing Director. 

Some of the key responsibilities include: 

Formulate, coordinate and control all production and engineering daily operations requirements and projects.

Oversee machine and materials planning processes and requirements including raw material/WIP stock control and monthly reporting. Includes minimisation of part reels stock and rolling 1-week written schedule for all assembly/stripper machines.

Maintain/deliver best H&S practices.

Communications – delivery of all shop floor staff communications and ensure robust operational communications with all shifts through all supervisory levels.

Oversee all new equipment deliveries, installations, commissioning and optimisation/realisation of expectations including KPI measurements and improvements.

Customer complaint management and reporting.

Implement and manage all BRC/ISO/Sustainability/other accreditation standards for production/ maintenance/ facilities.

Implement and manage production targets to ensure that all production sites achieve/drive and deliver year on year productivity per man hour improvements.

Oversee all shop floor operative payroll system inputs.

All shop floor recruitment, agency staffing and training requirements including training plans, timings, documentation and processes, particularly for auto-assemblers.

Future-plan resources based on capacity forecasting models.

Oversee KPI recording, performance and improvements including daily output reporting, follow-on actions and weekly KPI reporting.
