Nine Twenty are delighted to be working with an up-and-coming distillery based in Ireland, who have a vision of creating the next best Whiskey experience.

This is an exciting opportunity for us to be recruiting the role of a Master Distiller/Distillery Manager who will have a wealth of experience in Malt and Grain and a proven track record of being the voice of the brand. You will be managing all the activities of the production, ensuring the quality and delivery of the product. You will be a person who is able to build strong relations which each department, driving each process with the knowledge and expertise, using innovation on producing new styles and taste.

This role will be a “hands on” and roll your shelves up approach, giving the successful individual the following exposure to really make an impact with their wealth of experience:

  • Directly responsible for managing all activities of the distilling production operations in an environmentally friendly manner to realise the safety, quality, quantity, cost and service objectives of the business.
  • Establish laboratory testing of all processes to ensure product quality and that all environmental discharges are monitored.
  • Maintain detailed process logs. Procurement of all raw materials to comply with Irish Revenue Commissioners verification.
  • Production planning ensuring Grain whiskey, Grain Neutral Spirit, Pot still & Malt whiskies are produced safely and efficiently within agreed budgets with high importance given to complying with the Irish Whiskey Regulations.
  • Manage casking and blending operations to ensure that existing & future brands are consistent in quality now and in the future.
  • Source Casks and develop a wood policy. Sourcing standard casks with a focus on specialty cask purchases establishing relationships with cask suppliers.
  • Develop new styles of spirits through blending and finishing in conjunction with Marketing & tasting teams.
  • Manage warehouse operations and monitor maturation of all whiskies.
  • Act as the public facing Ambassador to the media, during visitor tours & events etc.
  • Assist with visitor centre development and ongoing improvements.
