Our client who are one of the largest seafood companies in the world have now expanded into the fish feed market in 2012 which led to their newly built feed mill facility being launched in Kyleakin, Isle of Skye. Due to this growth, their teams are expanding and we are delighted to be assisting in their need for a Maintenance Team Leader to join their team on a full time, permanent basis.

Their purpose is to build on their teams and continue to inspire whilst driving their passion and continuous improvement culture.

The Maintenance Team Leader will be responsible for a team of Engineering Technicians whilst overall supporting the Maintenance Team ensuring the efficient operation of manufacturing equipment 

Responsibilities

 

  • Liaise with Local Authorities (Community Engagement)
  • Accurate reporting of maintenance issues and finding resolutions
  • Driving continuous improvement whilst reducing downtime
  • Identifying area for process improvements 
  • Fulfil responsibilities under COMAH 
  • Support the environmental manager with activities required under SEPA and MHFF’s PPC document.
  • Deputise for Maintenance Manager
  • Produce and adhere to Personal Development Plan 
  • Continuously promote compliance and best practice, understanding of Industry Schemes, Codes of Practice, customer & market standards 
  • Support the management of written procedures and associated documents
  • Managing Engineering Technicians, ensuring safe and correct day-to-day working and develop the role in-line with business needs.
  • Working to KPI's 
  • Supporting in training of other departments such as Production and Supply Chain 
  • Ensure that maintenance schedules and associated procedures are followed, and work done reported/recorded.
  • Promote root-case-analysis as a key part of resolving non-conformances.
  • Present reports, both verbal and written to site meetings.
  • Following Health & Safety, Quality & Compliance 

 

Qualifications

  • Educated to SCQF Level 8 (HND, SVQ4) or above in Mechanical/Electrical engineering subjects
  • Experience in feed or food manufacturing is preferred
  • Team management & Maintenance planning experience
  • Team worker with developed influencing skills.
  • A systematic worker, with strong attention to detail and fact-based decision making.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Self-starting, with an ability to work at all levels within a company and within a given timeline
  • Aptitude for working with figures & data
  • Experienced IT user: Microsoft Office, bespoke IT systems (training will be provided).
  • UK driving license.
