Who are we looking for?

Lead Software Engineers and Mid-Level Software Engineers

As a PHP Software Engineers, you’ll have a broad understanding of the technologies which make up an application, with a deeper knowledge of some areas. You’ll be capable of making decisions on technologies that you’re not an expert in, by synthesising information provided to you by the project team.

Responsibilities & Duties:

As a PHP Software Engineer, you will be involved in projects during a number of stages in their life cycle. Your key responsibilities & duties will include, but will not be limited to:

  • Working with senior technical staff to choose architecture and most appropriate technologies for the project.
  • Undertaking code reviews, and providing evaluation and feedback on the production of work.
  • Build efficient, testable, and reusable PHP packages.
  • Solve complex performance problems and architectural challenges.
  • Integration of data storage solutions.
  • Attending project retrospectives and contributing as appropriate.
  • Team player - You’re able to work effectively in team.
  • Take ownership of development of core platforms and systems.
  • Work with the business to maintain scale and develop new features and functions across platforms.
  • Input ideas in early stage project scoping whilst being free to contribute to improvement of platforms.

Essential experience:

  • Minimum 2 years application development experience in PHP required.
  • We would love to see one of the following: Symfony, Laravel or any MVC framework.
  • An understanding of big data and associated database challenges.
  • Consuming and developing REST APIs.
  • SCSS/CSS and HTML development experience.

Preferred experience in any of the follow:

  • VueJS, GULP, Webpack.
  • Mobile focused.
  • Strong front-end skills, JavaScript and JavaScript framework development experience.
  • Social platform API’s.
  • Kannel & SMPP.
  • AWS infrastructure.
  • Exposure to Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Continuous Integration / Continuous Deployment.
