Nine Twenty's client are a growing medical devices company who have invested £millions into their new state of the art purpose built site - it’s a really exciting time to be joining at the start of this expansion period.

We are seeking an experienced Lead Instrument Technician to focus on the calibration, maintenance and management of the development and validation and verification instruments.

You will manage the delivery of instruments from our client's contract manufacturer and delivery to the Science and Engineering teams. You will also support a team of instrument technicians, offering training and support as needed.

Essential Skills

  • A ‘hands on’ experienced Instrument Technician with experience in Medical Devices or similar

  • Engineering degree qualified

  • Proven experience of characterising and optimising medical design devices

  • Proven experience of Troubleshooting medical design devices

  • Proven experience of developing processes to manage the maintenance of Instruments to maintain product specifications, developing test methods and of characterising medical / regulated design devices

  • Experience of product verification and validation within medical devices (or other highly regulated industry)

  • Ability to manage external material suppliers and/or technical partners

  • Ability to assemble prototype diagnostics devices by hand as required

  • Able to work with a wide range of stakeholders (equipment engineers, process engineers, Instrument engineers and scientists)

  • Able to use MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint

Desirable Skills

  • Medical device industry experience in POC instruments

  • cGMP experience, ideally within medical devices industry

  • Experience of POC Instrument development

  • Process Excellence Green Belt or Black Belt

  • Able to use Minitab

  • Able to use SolidWorks or AutoCAD drawing packages
