Nine Twenty Technology are recruiting for a Lead Development Tools Engineer on behalf of our Glasgow based Financial Services client.

The Role

The role of Lead Development Tools Engineer will deliver development tool related services to technology users across our client’s teams.

Responsibilities

  • Full incident, problem and change management roles for all in scope tools and tool services
  • Build the bank, analysis, design, implementation, testing and deployment of change to in scope tools and tool services
  • Engagement with tool users, business unit tool champions, vendors and internal technical teams to scope, plan, develop, test and deploy service enhancements
  • Prepare business case proposals for new and additional acquisitions
  • Plan and manage upgrade projects through collaboration with dispersed and complex teams in various locations
  • Creation and maintenance of DevTools Knowledge Base and DevTools administration pages for all in scope tools and tool services
  • Delivery of product enhancement demonstrations and user training sessions
  • Capacity planning of software licenses
  • MI Reporting of tool and tool service usage
  • Engage with and contribute to Agile and DevOps related CoEs and initiatives to promote use of DevTools services to drive increased fluency levels across technology

Skills & Experience Required

  • Solid product knowledge for architecture, design, database, continuous integration, code quality analysis and binary artefact tools
  • Knowledge of how the tools are deployed and administered including underlying middleware and infrastructure components
  • Fluent in agile and lean based working practices and team environments
  • Proficiency in technical authorship and technical training
  • A working knowledge of the banks policies and processes in relation to change governance, risk & control
  • Practical experience of object oriented scripting/development: Python, test-driven development, Windows batch programming and shell scripting
  • Experience in administration and monitoring of Windows/Linux systems, implementation of Nagios checks, use of Unix monitoring tools (sar, iostat, vmstat).
  • Experience developing against common APIs (HTTP, REST, SOAP, LDAP, ODBC, COM, etc.)
