Nine Twenty Technology are excited to be recruiting a Software Engineer for our Glasgow / Edinburgh based client who is an international leader in integrated banking solutions for wealth management, universal and retail banks.
The role is in a co-located Agile development team which forms part of a larger global development group. You will be responsible for all aspects of software development and delivery with a particular focus on high quality maintainable code. You will have the opportunity to work as part of a Feature team covering a broad range of technologies including components at every level of the software stack. From user interface to message oriented server side processing, integration and database. We value enthusiastic technologists with a drive to build the right software in the right way.
Key responsibilities will be
- Working within a Scrum team to deliver high quality software to the business,
- Working closely with the project manager to help estimate and prioritise the team’s backlog and define stories needed to deliver the solution
- Provide technology leadership to the team by setting standards and best practices, keeping up to date with new technologies and providing mentoring and assistance to the team members.
- As part of the Agile team the developer will be working closely with the members of the Operations team to understand requirements, demonstrate solutions and understand feedback.
- The developer will need to build unit test cases and assist with the definition and development of automated functional tests following principles of BDD

The role will offer exposure to all aspects of systems development, including:
- System design and architecture, including the physical infrastructure required for large scale applications
- Good practices for Development and code management
- Testing cycles – System, Integration & UAT
- Following Agile and Lean development principles with particular focus on Kaizen (continuous improvement)
- The organization operates a very robust risk management policy and the developer will need to work within guidelines for managing controlled UAT & Production environments
