Nine Twenty are now recruiting for a Junior Software Engineer to work in the western location of Glasgow. Our client is a Global Technology Company with offices spanning across Europe, Asia and America. Role
You will be involved in the design, development, and the implementation of web based applications. The Associate Software Engineer will work within the engineering team in order to develop new product features, identify and resolve quality issues and handle product support requests.
- Consult with product management and quality assurance for clarification of requirements and timescales.
- Development of product enhancements within agreed timescales.
- Participate in team meetings.
- Participate in internal departmental activities – API / build reviews.
- Participate in external departmental activities - University / industry engagements.
Experience required:
- Qualification in Computer Science or Software Engineering at 2:1 or above
- Experience of object oriented principles and design patterns
- Design and development experience in Java 2 Platform technologies (J2EE, EJB) and web application servers;
- Understanding of object oriented analysis, algorithm design and J2EE design patterns
- Development experience with: J2EE, EJBs, AJAX, SQL Server (fluent with SQL programming, Stored Procedures), JSP or Servlets, XML, HTML, JavaScript
- Understanding of software development life cycle methodologies
