Would you like the opportunity to join the world’s leading Malt Whisky specialist?  Based in the beautiful Scottish town of Elgin, Gordon & MacPhail are offering you the chance to join their business as a HSEQ Manager.  You would be joining the business at a time of real change and transformation and you must be motivated and committed to forming part of the driving force behind this. 

As the HSEQ Manager - you will develop and drive forward the delivery of HSEQ across the business to ensure legal compliance whilst developing operational efficiency. You will ensure the delivery of excellent customer service with internal stakeholders, colleagues & teams and will be the heart of recommending future development or improvements within their HSEQ structure. 

The Role: 

The role will encompass across 3 main pillars being Health & Safety, Environmental and Quality.

Health & Safety:


  • Manage, develop monitor, maintain and implement all areas of the company’s Health, Safety,
  • Environmental and Quality Management System (HSEQ MS) in line with ISO45001
  • Ensure total compliance with the Health & Safety at Work Act 1974 (and other associated legislation) across all business operations and sites.
  • Support best practice relating HSEQ across the business, developing colleague engagement and involvement.
  • Audit and maintain appropriate controls and documentation relating to HSEQ.
  • Manage training and development across the company relating to HSEQ
  • Focal point for COMAH procedures in support of Benromach Lower Tier COMAH site status.


  • Manage, develop, monitor, maintain and implement the companies Environmental
  • Management System in line with ISO14001
  • Identify improvements and future developments that reduce the company’s environmental impact.
  • Carry out auditing and supervision of operations relating environmental compliance.

Quality Management/ISO Standards:

  • Manage, monitor, maintain and implement the companies ISO 9001 accredited Quality Management System to retain this standard.
  • Plan, manage and facilitate the implementation and auditing to achieve certification to agreed
    ISO standards.
  • Engage all areas of the business to fully embrace the implementation of ISO standards and
    maximise the business benefits

Skills required: 

  • NEBOSH Qualified or equivalent 
  • ISO 9001/45001/14001 Auditing Qualification or equivalent 
  • Current Driving Licence 
  • COMAH or DSEAR qualification or experience 
  • A strong background in HSEQ
  • Experienced in budget management 
  • Supervisory experience
