An exciting time to join an innovative and rapidly expanding manufacturing organisation as Health & Safety Manager. This is a key role to join the established team and be responsible for various sites across the group. You will be responsible for ensuring health and safety compliance across 2 sites, within the wider Glasgow area.
It is a great time to join as systems and processes are being developed to support their growth and the appointed individual will have the autonomy to build and improve on any HSE systems in place. They are looking for someone who is passionate about developing HSE systems and who enjoys working with people to develop safety behaviours into their culture. Some of their sites are COMAH sites so having experience in this would be a distinct advantage as well as having a background in process safety.
Responsibilities:

Develop and implement Health and Safety controls, to ensure ongoing legal compliance whilst driving improvements in performance and standards

Manage key Health and Safety activities including Risk Assessments, Management of Change, Permit to Work, Control of Contractors, Safety Inspections, Safety Committee, Safety Reporting mechanisms, Safety Communication etc

Provide support and guidance for all other functions (at all levels), to continually develop Health and Safety performance

Root cause problem solving.

Proactively identify and implement opportunities for Health and Safety improvement

Deputise for Head of Governance or Compliance and Environment Manager as required.
Skills required:
-
Graduate, preferably within Engineering speciality

>3 years experience in a Health and Safety role, within a FMCG manufacturing environment

NEBOSH Diploma preferable or NEBOSH general certificate (working towards Diploma)

Operating within a COMAH regulated site

Process safety qualifications, with practical experience of implementing
