Nine Twenty are pleased to assist our long term, Glasgow based client, who are looking for a Graduate technical consultant to join the team. The company in question are a global technology company who are going through an exciting growth period therefore looking for the best talent!

As a Graduate Technical Consultant, you will work as part of the Professional Services (PS) teams engaging directly with their clients to develop world class customer experience solutions using the company’s portfolio of Customer Engagement Optimisation (CEO) products.

Role and responsibilities: 

  • Install, configure and utilise software engineering skills to customise CEO products
  • Participate in meetings and workshops with clients to gather the client’s requirements and explain how CEO products meet those requirements
  • Utilise other technologies as part of the overall solution e.g. Relational Databases
  • Carry out testing of the solution and create supporting documentation

In order to carry out the tasks above, a Graduate Technical Consultant will regularly require the support and mentoring of more senior colleagues. The support will reduce as time passes until at the end of the Graduate programme the Technical Consultant will be able to work mostly ‘standalone’. The extent of each of the activities listed above will depend on the nature of particular projects.

Essential experience 

  • A degree or post graduate qualification in Computer Science,Software Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Demonstrable skills in Object Oriented design concepts.
  • Demonstrable skills in Relational
  • Database design concepts.

Industry specific

  • Understanding of all stages of the Software Development Life cycle.
  • Experience of using SQL and relational database technologies e.g. SQL Server,Oracle.
  • Knowledge of developing and using Web Services e.g. SOAP.
  • Languages: Working knowledge of Java and the majority of the following HTML, JavaScript, XML, XSL/XSLT, Ant, CSS, JQuery, JSP, Ajax.
