I am very delighted to be working with an International Glass company, recruiting for an experienced Glass Production Manager in Trinidad. This role requires a strong leader to ascertain the current work forces skills and identify the areas of improvement, up skilling and making a positive impact on production of quality goods.
The successful individual will be from a glass production background and can relocate for 2-3 years to live in Trinidad with or without their family.
The role entails the following skills:
- Produce high quality glass as per customer specifications
- Maximize the furnace pull and packed glass efficiency through production planning
- Ensure job setups are done effectively and within agreed timeframes
- Ensure moulds are managed correctly in terms of analysis, tool correction, asset life, etc
- Manage the Quality Control function on the Cold End, ensuring that all quality checks, inspection machine setup, and exit con troll testing is done in accordance with customer requirements.
- Manage, through the shift superintendents, the administration and industrial relations associated with the staff of 150 persons
- Ensure that 100% adherence to the Company’s safety policies and procedures to minimize the risk of injury
- Participate in the development and implementation of and perform all duties in accordance with the procedures as per ISO 9001, FSC 22000 standards as well as the Company’s Quality Manual
Essential Skills and Experience:
- 5 years Glass Production knowledge, in a management position
- Intimate knowledge of glass making processes and ability to train/upskill workforce
- Effective communication to engage and implement a positive impact to move forward
- Proven track record of YOY improvements as well as staff morale
- Strong Stakeholder management and ability to take on a journey with clear innovated ideas
- A working knowledge of computer operations and relevant software packages
- Ability to communicate effectively – Must speak English at business level
