An opportunity has arisen with an owner managed business in the IP100 league table,  who are going through a period of exceptional growth. Headquartered in Glasgow, they have an international client base in multiple fast moving B2C sectors.

A new and exciting role within the company, your focus will be on supporting the executive team on Finance and Operations. You will be joining a fast paced and dynamic business. This is an exciting opportunity for a highly efficient individual to apply their expertise and support the existing Operations Director.

You will work closely with Senior leadership and needs to be comfortable working with external stakeholders. This role would be suitable for someone with experience working within an internal finance department, robust knowledge of Xero and not suited for an accountant/qualified individual due to the hybrid nature of the role out with just Finance.

 

The Role: 

  • Management and processing of day-to-day financial transactions including sales ledger, purchase ledger, VAT, employee expenses, petty cash, banking and supplier payments
  • Preparation of month-end accruals and prepayments
  • Completion of month-end processes in line with closing timetable
  • Completion of weekly bank reconciliations
  • Provision of management information to senior management
  • Reconciliation of inter-company transactions
  • Comprehensive balance sheet review process performed on a monthly basis
  • Ensure all financial controls, systems and processes are implemented and maintained
  • Liaising with external stakeholders: auditors, banks, suppliers and customers
  • Ad hoc project work out with finance as required
  • HR Administration and working closely with the Directors on HR matters including new staff inductions and our onboarding/offboarding process Assist in preparing reports

Requirements:

  • Minimum 4 years hands-on experience working within a finance department
  • Robust working knowledge of Xero (essential)
  • Experience of monthly accounting processes and routines
  • Related Finance accreditations would be advantageous
  • Experience of HR and employment law
  • Proficient use of Microsoft Office, with excellent Excel skills
