Nine Twenty Engineering and Manufacturing are delighted to be supporting our global manufacturing client as they look to invest in a Field Service Engineer with Mechanical, Electrical and Software skills this can be based anywhere but there will be an occasional requirement to visit the leicester site for reporting purposes.

They now require a Field Service Engineer who wants to be part of a successful forward thinking organisation.

You will ideally be a multi disciplined engineer with a proven record of commissioning systems within project constraints and financial budgets. Ideally you will be HNC qualified in an electrical or software discipline. You'll be involved in an organisation which is successfully providing a unique service to clients with opportunities to work on projects across Western Europe. Whether you are working from their offices or out in the field you will receive first class support and back up.

 

This role would ideally be suited to an engineer who enjoys working on a project basis; someone who is looking for a new challenge and to build upon their experience.

 

Computer Software/Applications

  • Working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, Outlook
  • Basic database querying / editing (eg. Access, SQL, etc)
  • AutoCad
  • Programming concepts
  • Ability to learn and understand bespoke applications quickly.

Electrical

  • Fault find on DC circuits (sensors, transducers, motor controllers etc).
  • Understand electrical wiring schematics.
  • Implement small changes/ additions to existing circuits.

Networking

  • An understanding of wired and wireless networks.
  • Wireless security standards.
  • Fault finding techniques.

Mechanical

  • Basic bench fitting skills.
  • Understand and follow mechanical assembly drawings.

Hydraulics / Pneumatics

  • Basic understanding of hydraulics / pneumatics and the components related to them.
  • Ability to follow simple circuit diagrams.

Key responsibilities

  • Produce and debug the vehicle system software
  • Develop and test vehicle software.
  • Commission and support the companies automated guided vehicle systems, within constraints of project financial budget.
  • Writing reports
  • Customer support and training.

You must work well under pressure and be very health and safety focused, have a willingness to working away from home in the UK and Europe for 70 -90% of the time. Generally, the role does not include weekend work; however, this may be required from time to time.
