Nine Twenty Engineering & Manufacturing are delighted to be supporting a well-known and established FMCG organisation in the Glasgow area as they look to recruit an experienced Facilities Manager. This is a key site-based role offering full ownership of facilities performance, compliance, and continuous improvement within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
The Opportunity
As Facilities Manager, you will take responsibility for the smooth, safe, and efficient operation of all site facilities. You’ll play a critical role in maintaining standards, managing contractors, driving improvement initiatives, and ensuring full statutory and health & safety compliance across the site.
What You’ll Do
- Oversee the day-to-day maintenance, operation, and improvement of all site facilities.
- Manage planned preventive maintenance (PPM) schedules and ensure all work is completed on time and to standard.
- Carry out regular inspections to proactively identify and address potential issues.
- Coordinate contractors, suppliers, and service providers, ensuring work is delivered safely, on time, and within budget.
- Develop, manage, and monitor SLAs and KPIs for facilities service provision.
- Ensure full compliance with health, safety, environmental, and statutory regulations.
- Manage facilities budgets, including cost control, forecasting, and reporting.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, inspections, and compliance documentation.
- Support business continuity planning and emergency response procedures.
- Take ownership of site facilities systems and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
About You
You will be a proactive, hands-on Facilities professional who is comfortable operating in a manufacturing or FMCG environment and takes pride in maintaining high standards across site infrastructure.
Skills & Experience Required
- Proven experience in facilities management, maintenance supervision, or a similar role.
- Strong knowledge of health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Experience managing contractors, suppliers, and service agreements.
- Budget management and cost control experience is desirable.
- Relevant technical or trade qualifications (IOSH, NEBOSH, engineering, or building maintenance preferred).
- COMAH experience – experience working within or supporting COMAH-regulated sites preferred but not essential.
- Steam / boiler systems experience – exposure to steam plant, boilers, or pressure systems preferred but not essential.
