Equipment Systems Engineer

Nine Twenty Engineering & Manufacturing are working with our specialist electronics manufacturing client in their need for an Equipment Systems Engineer to join their engineering team permanently.

The Role: 

  • Develop and implement manufacturing concepts for common SMT procedures and systems including SMT p&p, printers and vapour phase systems.
  • Creation and control of all programs, libraries and related setup detail via Mycronic software.
  • Maintain and control production machinery
  • Assist Process Engineering in development of process documentation in-line with ISO9001:2015 (work instructions, process specifications, process controls and procedures).
  • Ensure all associated procedures & work instructions, process controls are understood and followed by all trained personnel.
  • Support and train production staff for all related operator duties and checks.
  • Establish procedures for process monitoring, process validation and capability (OEE, Gage R&R, Cpk).
  • Maximise efficiency of SMT, Vapour Phase, DEK printer and other in-line systems.
  • Assist in Factory goal achievements; OEE and scrap reduction (Attrition etc)
  • Support engineering changes and variation via ECN/ECO process.
  • Ensure effective communication with Engineering Manager, Production Manager and Process Engineering team.
  • Establish and implement procedures to collect and report manufacturing measurements, efficiency, downtime etc.
  • Assist in TPM system creation, Preventive Maintenance support and Equipment care.
  • Control and maintain spares inventory for all in-line systems.
  • Ensure all assigned projects are executed on-time and all related meetings supported.
  • Identify and implement cost saving opportunities.
  • Actively support problem solving projects with Process Engineering team.
  • Actively participate in associated PFMEAs, 5S and Improvement exercises.

Skills required: 

  • Experience on related SMT systems within a manufacturing environment 
  • Mydata placement machines programming and maintenance experience 
  • SMT process control experience 
  • NPI experience 
  • Experience maintaining maintenance records 
  • Selective solder programming and maintenance experience
