We are delighted to be recruiting for our client who are looking for a talented Debug/Electronics Technician to join their expanding team on a permanent basis. 

Your responsibility would be to work closely with the R&D Scientist to assemble and test medical device meters whilst trouble-shooting and maintaining the meters being used in a laboratory testing environment. You may also have the chance to be involved in electronics and software design and prototyping. 

Key Responsibilities of the role

  • Assembling of meters
  • Mechanically & electrically modifying meters including wiring and adding in extra circuits
  • Programming of meters to software requirements
  • Add and replace surface mount parts using soldering iron.
  • Assisting in lab testing strips and/or running test on repeatability and linearity.
  • To debug and repair meters down to component level
  • Assembling of optics blocks and magnet assemblies 
  • Use of OGP machine
  • Dealing with and maintaining associated paperwork for recording instrument repairs and updates
  • Investigation of design issues and identification of potential improvements
  • Initiate, investigate and action non-conformances when required.
  • Adhering to the company's Quality Policy and Quality Objectives

Essential Skills for the role

  • Someone with a "can do" and "hands on" attitude with a desire to learn & improve processes and procedures
  • Qualified to HNC or equivalent in Electronics.
  • Someone who has the ability to read and interpret circuit diagrams.
  • Good soldering skills.
  • Ability to use test equipment as required, e.g. voltmeter, programmers, etc.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office package.
  • Able to work in a team environment.
  • Someone who is highly motivated, flexible & self motivated bringing a positive vibe and maintaining productive working relationships.
