Engineering Stores Project Assistant

Isle of Skye | 6-Month Contract (with potential to extend)
Day Shift (Mon-Fri) | £25,000 – £30,000 DOE

 

Nine Twenty Engineering & Manufacturing are supporting our long-standing client on the Isle of Skye with the recruitment of an Engineering Stores Project Assistant to help deliver a major improvement programme across the engineering stores function.

This is a hands-on role offering an exciting opportunity to get involved in a fast-paced project, ideal for someone with strong organisational skills and an interest in engineering, stock control, or warehousing.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Assisting the Project Manager with the reorganisation and optimisation of engineering stores
  • Helping to catalogue, label, and record parts and components
  • Supporting improvements to the layout, storage systems, and inventory control
  • Working closely with engineers, contractors, and technical teams
  • Taking on manual handling tasks and learning how parts and systems are used on site

Experienced required:

  • A positive, proactive attitude with strong attention to detail
  • Interest or experience in stores, engineering, maintenance, or manufacturing
  • Good computer skills – especially for basic stock control and record-keeping
  • Willingness to get stuck in and learn on the job
  • Forklift or warehouse experience is a bonus, but not essential
