Nine Twenty Engineering & Manufacturing have been working closely with a Global manufacturer to build a proactive maintenance and engineering department and we are almost at the end of the project. The client is looking to recruit an engineering planner/administrator with a “can do” attitude, who can help them to develop and embed high quality maintenance management, document control and training management systems. This vacancy offers the right person an excellent opportunity to be part of a team at their superb facility with world class products.

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate a deep understanding of and working experience in maintenance planning inputs, outputs and stores interfaces.  You will have advanced syntax skills in Microsoft Excel and a good working knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite of software applications.  In addition, you will have experience in routine engineering department administration tasks and contractor interfaces, as well as a working knowledge of Regulatory, Health and Safety requirements relevant to the through life management of engineering assets.  You will also be able to demonstrate a sound understanding of engineering document control and training management requirements. 

Reporting directly to the head of engineering, you will be a self-starter with great interpersonal skills.  You will be capable of building and operating simple but effective engineering management systems from scratch. You will be responsible for the following key activities: 

  • Asset register management
  • Maintenance planning
  • Defect repair planning
  • Contractor liaison
  • Obtaining quotations for work
  • Initiating spend approval requests
  • Managing invoices for goods and services received
  • Critical document management
  • Training management
  • Attending and chairing engineering planning meetings

The successful candidate will be asked to deliver a range of key engineering administrative projects in the coming year and will be:

  • A confident self-starter
  • A “can do” individual with a bias for action
  • Flexible enough to succeed in a demanding operations environment
  • An advanced user of Microsoft Excel
  • Able to demonstrate qualifications and / or experience in an administration based subject
  • Able to display great interpersonal skills
  • An analytical and logical thinker
