We are delighted to be recruiting for our client who are looking for 6 talented Electronics Design Engineers to join their expanding team.
 
  • Contract basis - 6 month 
  • EXCELLENT daily rate 
 
You would be working as part of the engineering team, reporting to the R&D Engineering Director, responsible for the development of Point of Care (POC) instrument design from the lab based prototype stage to manufacturing design transfer.
 
Key responsibilities of the role
  • Working on projects and being concious of project timelines
  • Create detailed design specifications
  • Create robust characterisation and test methods - Provide innovative and robust design solutions
  • Review and critique electronic design solutions developed by other team members.
  • Ensure that the key functional technical blocks of the instrument are developed, tested and performed in a robust and rapid manner.
  • Ensure that the electronic components of the instrument design are integrated into a robust final solution
  • Management of sub-contractors (PCB fabrication, board build, component sourcing)
  • Carrying out assembling testing
  • Responsible to develop and execute verification requirements to ensure electronics design has met specification
  • Use of electrical regulations knowledge  applicable to the development of medical device
Skills required for the role
  • Practical experience in analogue, digital and mixed circuit design. 
  • Ability to implement designs in a schematic capture package
  • Ability to translate requirements into design specifications.
  • Practical experience in board bring up and debug using appropriate tools and techniques
  • Knowledge of CE marking directives or medical device standards would be advantageous
  • Experience in the design of optical fluorescent detection systems would be advantageous
  • Experience and knowledge in the design of electrochemistry interfacing circuitry would be advantageous
  • Knowledge and design of magnetic circuits would be advantageous
  • Practical experience in the use of PCB layout design tools
