Nine Twenty Engineering are delighted to assist in the recruitment of an Electrical Supervisor on behalf of our global Automated, manufacturing client based in Ayrshire. Strong supervisory skills and a knowledge of Siemens S5/7 or TIA Portal PLC's will be the key experience for this role.

As the Electrical Supervisor you will manage a team of engineers, provide a total electrical engineering service to the manufacturing process with the main goal of maximising production and increasing cost effectiveness.

The Role:

  • To organise, supervise and coordinate members of the shift/team, to ensure optimum utilisation and efficiency in order to achieve departmental targets. 
  • To undertake a comprehensive training program to be able to supervise and fully understand the Electrical Engineering Department.
  • To maintain planned maintenance programmes' to minimise production downtime.
  • To supervise the installation, commissioning and testing of all equipment as directed by the Electrical Engineering Manager.
  • To ensure that the departmental training programs are organised, maintained and recorded. 
  • To maintain the company’s safety systems as detailed in the health & safety manual.
  • To ensure the operation and related tasks are conducted in a safe working manner and that any incidents, accidents, hazards or near misses are investigated and duly reported.
  • To actively train and develop personnel within the department, in conjunction with the HR Department, applying company policies and procedures.  To attend any meetings required as part of the normal duties.

Desired qualifications, skills and experience:

  • Degree or HND in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
  • Siemens programming S5 and S7 or TIA Portal knowledge
  • Advanced CIEH health and safety course certificate
  • Related work experience in a supervisory position
  • High standard of it skills and competent use of Microsoft office products (word, excel, outlook)
  • Full driving licence
