Due to internal promotion, an exciting, innovative and rarely available role has come up with a leading drinks producer for a Distilleries Brewer to ensure the development of the Global distilling operations from a brewing perspective through application of new technology and industry best practice where applicable. Central to this role will be improving and maintaining distilleries yield efficiency and also reducing the cost of new make spirits through brewing operations. 

Key responsibilities include: 

  • Analyse all raw materials and “in process” materials and effluent for a range of analytical parameters in accordance with standard procedures.
  • To lead and support the optimisation of company distilleries brewing operations from a innovation, yield development and cost of make perspective.
  • Identification and implementation of distillery brewing capital projects that will improve distilleries yield and efficiency.
  • Interpretation of distilleries brewing analytical data allowing insights to be obtained and applied to the process to maintain and / or improve yield. 
  • Ensure research and development laboratory and or pilot plant projects that may improve distilleries yield, reduce cost of make or provide innovation opportunities are identified and carried out drawing clear conclusions and recommendations from this work.
  • Produce comprehensive documentation that details optimum brewing parameters and in turn use this information to provide a basis for training and development of both technical and production personnel.
  • Develop the company site technical knowledge through; the support and implementation of training interventions, on-the-job coaching, and site communications.

To be considered for this exciting role, you should be: 

  • Degree educated in science or engineering discipline with preference for brewing
  • Proven experience of delivering technical improvements within a process environment
  • Able to diagnose complex brewing process issues through analytical insights.
  • Knowledge and experience of plant design, budget costing, commissioning protocol and process development.
