Nine Twenty Technology is working with our global client to recruit a full time Datawarehouse Developer for their Glasgow office.

The Role

As a Datawarehouse Developer, this role will focus on developing Audit, Risk and compliance integrated reporting and analytical data based solutions.

  • Development of views, stored procedures, ETLs
  • Performing data analysis
  • Monitoring and tuning queries and data loads
  • Work closely with Reporting & Data Analytics dev team to enable communication of client specific business processes and requirements.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop stored procedures, triggers, MQTs and views on our DB2-based Data Warehouse
  • Assist ETL developers with their development
  • Perform data profiling and analysis on source system data to ensure that source system data can be integrated and represented properly in our model
  • Monitor the performance of queries and data loads and perform tuning as necessary
  • Develop and tune views within our Cisco Virtual Data Platform
  • Provide assistance and guidance during QA & UAT

Skills & Qualifications Required

To be successful in the role of Datawarehouse Developer, the following skillset is essential:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or related field required 
  • 7+ years of experience in data development
  • 7+ years for SQL experience with the ability to write ad-hoc and complex queries to perform data analysis
  • 5+ years of experience developing complex stored procedures, triggers, MQTs and views on IBM DB2
  • At least 3+ years of experience with Informatica
  • An understanding of E-R data models (conceptual, logical and physical)
  • Strong understanding of advanced data warehouse concepts (Factless Fact Tables, Temporal \ BI-Temporal models, etc.)
  • Experience with BI applications like Cognos a plus
  • Experience with Cisco Virtual Data Platform (previously known as Composite) a plus
  • Experience with NoSQL databases such as MarkLogic a plus
  • Experience with Autosys a plus
  • Strong analytical skills, including a thorough understanding of how to interpret customer business requirements and translate them into technical designs and solutions
  • Experience with both Waterfall and Agile development methodologies

Soft Skills Required:

  • Strong communication skills both verbal and written are essential for this position. The successful candidate needs to be able to collaborate across a variety of IT and Business groups across multiple locations
  • Self-starter. Proven ability to manage multiple, concurrent projects with minimal supervision and able to manage a complex ever changing priority list effectively.
  • Strong problem solving ability. You should be able to identify where focus is required and bring clarity to business objectives, requirements and priorities.
