Nine Twenty Technology have a fantastic new opportunity for a Database Administrator to join a global leader in acquiring and collecting nonperforming loans. The role of DBA will be responsible for developing, maintaining and optimising the organisations database farm.  It is also responsible for working on application development projects, working closely with technical leads and developers to assist in both logical and physical database design along with database and SQL performance tuning.

Responsibilities: 

  • Design databases to support business applications, ensuring system scalability, security, performance, and reliability.
  • Design database applications, such as interfaces, data transfer mechanisms, global temporary tables, data partitions, and function-based indexes.
  • Migration of database from On Premise to Cloud (Azure)
  • Perform database server installations
  • Maintain, monitor, and improve database server health
  • Perform database administration and maintenance tasks such as: backups, restores, disaster recovery, log shipping, data modelling, data conversion, SSIS, stored procedures, functions, table design, & queries.
  • Design, Implement, maintain, and test database backup and recovery procedures

Experience required: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in information technology or computer science plus at least 5+ years of MSS
  • Server experience or equivalent combination of education, technical and experience.
  • Strong technical knowledge of SQL Server 2012 to 2019 and cloud technologies e.g. Azure SQL.
  • Experience and ability to demonstrate performance diagnosis and tuning techniques in the whole working stack, Database internals, OS, Storage and Networks and SQL Server’s Query Processor Fundamental
  •  Experience in managing and migrating large volumes of data
  •  Familiarity with Microsoft Windows Server 2012R2, 2016,
  •  Knowledge of MS PowerShell and MS SQL Extended Events
  •  Experience with various methods of performing large data migrations and moving large data
  • Knowledge of general networking and security
