We are Incentive Games and we are looking for a Data Engineer to join our growing business.

Incentive Games is a young, exciting and energetic company that specialises in helping its clients acquire, retain and monetise customers via web and mobile apps in the form of free and pay to play games. We use the science of gamification to make user engagement simple. The company is growing and we have ambitions to be a leading games provider and we have been gaining recognition nationally and abroad.  Our current clients are multi-national gambling and payment companies based in Europe, Africa, Asia, and the USA, but we have plans to expand into non-I-gaming markets.

Job Brief 

We’re looking for you to join our team as a Data Engineer reporting directly to the Head of Data. As a Data Engineer, you will work with our highly skilled team and assist in translating results and outcomes into meaningful analysis. Your contribution to the data team will help influence and drive business change.

You’ll help automate our data pipeline to empower the data team and provide insights and recommendations that improve our clients KPI’s.

 Responsibilities include but are not limited to

  • Assist with implementing an ETL pipeline using AWS cloud technologies.
  • Use Python, Jupyter notebooks, and/or Excel to manipulate and analyse data including mining, descriptive analysis, preparation of data for analytics, and documentation.
  • Communicate findings to a variety of audiences including colleagues and clients, both technical and non-technical
  • Turn large quantities of complex client data into insights which can be used to inform decision making and drive business benefit
  • Identify incomplete and diverse data sets, pinpointing data issues which may affect the accuracy and completeness of any analysis performed.
  • Work closely with Backend Engineers, Data Scientists, Product, and other team members to deliver the right data for them
  • Contribute to Growth Hacking features with A/B testing.

Essential Requirements 

  • Experience working in an AWS Data Stack (AWS Glue, Lambda, S3, Athena, etc.)
  • Experience Building/Developing Pipelines
  • Good knowledge and experience of Python and associated data frameworks (PySpark, Pandas, NumPy, etc.)
  • Excellent knowledge of SQL and a good understanding of relational database architecture.

Desirable Requirements:

  • Experience with Quicksight
  • Experience with DevOps/DataOps practices and tooling (eg: product releases, versioning, testing and monitoring)
  • Experience with Google Analytics is a plus. 
  • Problem-solving aptitude, ability to think on your feet and action solutions 
  • Enjoy working closely with others as part of a close-knit team
