Our client based just outside Glasgow is looking for a Cutting Manager to join there well established team you will be managing the end-to-end process from the receipt of finished goods, through cutting, finishing and kitting to the warehouse/dispatch team, the role of the Cutting Manager is to ensure the safe and operational efficiency of day-to-day production which guarantees optimum performance, achieving all production KPI’s, and fulfils customer demands whilst ensuring all company procedures and compliances (both internal and external) are fully met. The Production Manager will also work on a variety of projects related to ongoing organisational improvements including, but not limited to, Health and Safety, Quality, Workplace Organisation, Cost Improvement, Environmental and Sustainability.


Job Function:
Responsible for the safe and efficient running of operations, equipment, and the personnel for all
functions across the production lines.
o Embed H&S culture of zero tolerance ensuring the policy is fully understood, owned and
implemented by every individual, promoting the use of T-Cards for near miss and hazard
reporting– ensuring appropriate feedback and recognition to all employees.

Accountable for managing the day-to-day business processes and demands, ensuring the
manufacturing functions are running smoothly.
o Manage the actions identified through internal and external audits (including health &
safety and quality inspections) and ensure they are completed in a timely manner.
o Manage the customer and internal planning processes and requirements:
Understand the capacity at all areas of the process, ensuring that current/future
constraints are reported to the Cutting Operations Director.
o Ensure that all production targets are achieved. All targets are measured and reported daily.
o Establish and measure OEE across all plant and equipment:
Drive improvement plans where necessary.
o Ensure that the labour capacity plan is always current and in-line with budget, conducting
improvement activities where/when necessary.
To support the Director of Manufacturing to develop an ops excellence and continuous
improvement attitude to the business and nurture lean thinking across your areas of responsibility.
Responsible for the delivery of performance measure targets (KPI’s) across Safety, Quality,
Delivery and Productivity.
Control all internal and external regulatory compliances and guidelines as set out by health &
safety, quality and environmental.
The safety of third-party contractors.
Principle Accountabilities:
Accountable to the Cutting Operations Director for the smooth running of the production lines. Working closely with business stakeholders to deliver against the Key Business Measures.
Accountable for driving the total cost of non-conformance down

Controlling and managing Key Performance metrics (KPI’s), to ensure the business meets the
challenging production/output goals, in terms of quality, cost and on-time delivery.
Working with purchase and logistics, ensure all manufacturing activities meeting consequently customer requirements. Achieve planned output of each product on time in full.
Developing and implementing processes, workflows and governance

Work with the Group Continuous Improvement Manager to instill a lean culture in all departmental
production lines.
Support the Group Director of Manufacturing to build business cases for capital investment.
Support process development function to deliver technology improvements within the business.
Sharing best practice across both manufacturing locations.
Manage the accurate and on time introduction of new products.
Ensure all production maintains conformance to defined quality standards; TS16949 etc.
Ensure your teams always operates in line with the company’s Health and Safety Policy.
Ensure all manufacturing employees are appropriately trained to defined standards.
Prepare and ensure effective delivery of the production plan.
Stock management
Working closely with HR colleagues to proactively input and support the People plan for
development and succession.
Ensure POD information is recorded, monitored, and improving KPIs are displayed at all times.
Implement and embed workplace organisation ensuring the factory is always customer ready.
Create an open and honest culture of communications between management and factory
employees, always aligned to our core values.
Deliver optimum results by creating a can-do attitude through motivating and encouraging
employees.
Forge effective working relationships with other functions of the organisation, always putting
company first
The management and leadership of shift supervisors and the oversight and implementation of
training of all operational employees including the creation of succession plan
Recruitment and selection of operational employees when required with the support of HR
Ensure maintenance programs are fit for purpose.
Experience Desired
Experience in a similar role – preferably in a manufacturing/industrial setting with a good
understanding of operational metrics and drivers and the use of KPIs to manage an operation
Experience of meeting and exceeding health and safety/environmental requirements
Demonstrable experience of driving and improving process changes, resulting in greater
efficiencies and financial performance
Demonstrable leadership and line management skills with a coaching style that gets the best out
of people, focused on collaboration and continual improvement
Creating and managing complex shift patterns
Logistics Management
Experience of P&L management including meeting budgetary expectations
Excellent IT Skills
