Responsibilities
- Ensuring 'fit for filling' wood and coopering materials are maintained in the site spirit store and Edrington Cooperage
- Repair of leaking casks - replace hoopd and bungs
- Tap casks to check for level of contents, indentify the cask condition
- Inspecting of empty tasks and their condition
- Hardening of casks as required prior to filling
- Ensure accurate storage of casks
- Maintain excellent housekeeping
- Carry out daily site inspection and report any defects as required
- Repairing ends of casks and inspect/test the casks after repair, stripping up stravers to determine and report quantity
- Working with barrel yard operatives as required
Essential Skills
- Be a Time Served Cooper
- Working knowledge of HSE Legislation
- Good oral and written communication skills
