An exciting opportunity to join a growing and innovative engineering organisation who offer solutions into the healthcare and education sectors. This business has continued to grow and to innovate and due to this, they are seeking to recruit a Continuous Improvement Engineer or Business Improvement specialist to their busy fast paced team based in Glasgow. 

This company does not have their own manufacturing facility but this person will be key in working with their suppliers' manufacturing businesses . You will also be responsible for looking at ways to improve their supply chain - kanbans , improving carriage costs etc . 

The client are implementing a new Configurator/ Pricing/ Quotation (CPQ) system so experience of setting up and using systems would be helpful .

Their latest products have an electronics/software aspect to them so a bit of electronics experience would be good too. 

A major improvement area for this client is aggregating their products - where and how to do it . A single set of the product could comprise of 20 different products and they all have to come together someplace . It could be at the installation site or back at some aggregation point . When a project consists of hundreds of products then it is a big decision where best to aggregate and this person coming into the business should enjoy over coming such challenges and develop innovative and efficient ways. 

This is a brilliant opportunity for someone to get their teeth into some exciting projects and have the autonomy to suggest and implement better ways of working. The team are vibrant and hard working and would welcome some new ideas into the team. 

Ideally you should have:

  • A degree in a technical discipline
  • Extensive experience in business improvement and ideally have experience in improving supply chain
  • Hold a qualification in LEAN/Six Sigma or another improvement tool
  • Have strong communication skills 
  • Have an influential manner
  • Be flexible to be able to travel over the UK
  • Be ambitious to continue to develop your career
