An exciting opportunity with our client has arisen for an experienced and enthusiastic Assistant Accountant to join our client's Administration Team, based in their office within the heart Glasgow in Merchant City. This full time, permanent position within a busy, lively office in the city centre offers a competitive salary and benefits package for the right candidate.

Our client require a highly motivated, ambitious, conscientious and creative individual with excellent interpersonal skills and organisational capabilities.  Someone with the ability to deal with tasks promptly, efficiently and accurately.  To succeed in this role you will be personally driven to achieve, work effectively under pressure and be prepared to go that extra mile to support the team to deliver high quality accurate outputs, frequently against extremely tight deadlines.

 

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Multicurrency Accounts Payable, invoice coding, entry and payments;
  • Multicurrency Accounts Receivable and Credit Control;
  • Multicurrency Cashbook journals and HSBC bank reconciliations;
  • Preparation of monthly payroll schedule for all base salary and commissions;
  • Sales administration with preparation of quotations, invoices, purchase orders to clients and partners and chasing where necessary;
  • Creation of Purchase Orders and maintenance of overall PO database;
  • Daily posting of cash & Bank reconciliations;
  • Dealing with customer queries relating to credit control and payments;
  • Managing & Processing all expense claims and company credit card transactions;
  • Other office admin tasks.

Skills & Experience:

  • Administrative / organisational skills – Essential
  • Sales and purchase ledger experience - Essential
  • Previous experience of credit control and debt collection - Essential
  • Attention to detail and analytical skills – Essential
  • Experience of the Microsoft Office package, profound knowledge of Excel – Essential
  • Experience and knowledge of Xero - Desirable
  • Ability to work with autonomy and as part of a team - Essential
  • Knowledge of accounting terminology – Essential
