Nine Twenty Technology has a fantastic opportunity for an Application Support Specialist to join a global IT firm in Scotland. This is a globally recognised organisation who not only deliver fantastic products and services to its clients but also offer their employee's a progressive workplace with brilliant development opportunities. As an Application Support specialist, you will work alongside a global team to analyse and evaluate technical problems and/or functionality questions within the software, based on the application, data source or integration with external applications.

Please note this role requires shift work to work alongside global US Team: 

  • Shift hours will be between 1pm GMT until 1am GMT; will be required to participate in on-call rotations consistent with Support’s on-call practice
  • 8 hour shifts starting from 1pm; supporting Americas 
  • On call rota, 1 week in every 2 months (expected to reduce as the team grows). On call is paid
  • Shift premiums after 5pm ( 5-7pm +from 7pm onwards)

Essential Non technical/Technical Skills: 

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule in the interest of customer satisfaction
  • Customer contact centre or customer service experience that supports implementation, and troubleshooting of software applications
  • Experience in documenting customer issues 
  • Experience in effectively dealing with internal escalations from Professional Services and customer
  • Familiarity with Contact Centre operations and technology software and tools
  • Experience with operating systems, desktop domains (active directory) and Windows security
  • Familiarity with use of troubleshooting and diagnostic tools such as Wireshark, NetMon, PerfMon, WinDBG, etc.
  • Familiarity with WEB Server Technology (i.e. IIS, WebLogic, Tomcat, & Apache)
  • Understanding of networking and protocols (TCP/IP, SMTP, etc.)
  • Knowledge of telecom systems (CTI, PBX, VOIP) including switches and protocols Familiarity with Information Security (i.e. SSL/PKI, Security hardening, Firewall)
  • Demonstrated experience working with databases (SQL preferred)
