We are seeking a highly skilled Infrastructure / 3rd Line Support Engineer with excellent troubleshooting skills and great attention to detail to join our IT support team. Experience of managing both Windows and Linux environments is essential.

You will be responsible for providing advanced technical support to both our customer base and internal staff, ensuring the smooth operation of all IT infrastructure.

This role requires in-depth knowledge of IT systems, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.

Technical Support:

  • Responding to client Support Requests through our ITSM Tools or by Telephone
  • Provide expert-level support to resolve complex IT issues escalated from 1st and 2nd line support teams.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot hardware, software, and network-connectivity related problems.
  • Installing, and upgrading Operating Systems
  • Administer and maintain servers, including installation, configuration, and troubleshooting of server operating systems (Windows Server, Linux, etc.).
  • Manage and optimize virtualization environments (VMware, Hyper-V, etc.).
  • Implement and manage Active Directory, Group Policies, and other directory services.
  • Configure and maintain routers, switches, firewalls, and other network infrastructure components.
  • Monitor network performance and ensure high availability and reliability.
  • Implement and manage security protocols and measures to safeguard the network.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Demonstrable experience of working as a Systems Administrator, Technical Support Specialist, or a related role.
  • Proven expertise in Windows server environments. (inc. Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, File Services, IIS etc.
  • RHEL/CentOS/Rocky Linux/Ubuntu
  • Patch Management Systems (Spacewalk/Satellite)
  • Strong knowledge of networking protocols, security principles, and best practices.
  • Experience with virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V).

Desirable

  • HND or Degree level qualification in Computer Networking or related field.
  • Certifications such as MCSE, CCNA, or equivalent.
  • Linux Certifications (e.g RHCE, LPIC-1 or LPIC-2, Linux+ or LFCA)
  • The ability to challenge current processes to drive continual improvement.
