We’re proud to announce that Nine Twenty Engineering & Manufacturing are sponsoring the Young Person of the Year Award at the 2022 CeeD Industry Awards. With this being the third year for Nine Twenty Engineering & Manufacturing sponsoring the CeeD Industry Awards, Karen Stewart tells us more about the awards and why she is so passionate about being involved.
CeeD have become a close partner of Nine Twenty over the years and we are passionate about supporting it. It has been created to support and share best practice amongst the Manufacturing, Engineering and Technology communities – an ethos that completely aligns with that of Nine Twenty.
Our Managing Director, Karen Stewart is a board member of the business and has worked closely with the team to help the community focus on skills gaps, talent shortages and diversity amongst other things. Karen was part of the team who kick started the first CeeD Awards dinner, who wanted to create an evening of fun and celebration within industry. A few years down the line has made it clear that this has been achieved, with attendance levels continually high and growing and a wonderful group of sponsors from the industry who support it.
This year we are excited to be sponsoring the Young Person of the Year Award, as again we hold this close to our hearts as a business. The Young Person of the Year Award gives recognition to employees aged 17-27, for outstanding achievement in the workplace. Focussing on giving young people opportunities in the industry is a passion of Karen's and the wider team. Karen sits on the Gender Commission to help focus on the gender gap within Apprentices, she was also the creator of the Nine Twenty Insp-Hire initiative. This is an event aimed at families to teach them the importance that STEM will play in their child's future career options. Karen is also a Trustee of SmartSTEMs who are the chosen charity of the evening, and again play an integral part in inspiring young people into STEM based careers.
So with the Awards night drawing close, we have our guest list ready and our glam business suits on the hanger. We are so excited to see our wonderful network in person for this brilliant night of inspiration and celebration.
