The Graduate Journey

The Graduate Journey Featuring Redspire

Emma Hartevents, Technology

Nine Twenty have had the pleasure of working with Redspire for the past few years in order to support their recruitment as the headcount has steadily grown. With solid plans for expansion, we are currently looking for new high excellent and talented graduates who are looking to start their career within a dynamic and innovative Technology company like Redspire.

In order to show the wealth of opportunities that Redspire can offer, one of their hugely success graduates, Jamie Logue, has kindly spent the afternoon with us to talk about his career path and how he ended up with Redspire.

Everyone meet Jamie…

Nine Twenty approached Jamie last year after he had graduated from University of West of Scotland, successfully walking away with a 2:1 in Business Technology. Following screening with Nine Twenty, we knew straight away that Jamie was the type of driven candidate that would flourish in the learning environment that Redspire can provide.

Jamie, what did you want to do when you graduated?

“I definitely wanted to be a Business Analyst- I completed a Database Development module at university and it was very relevant so even though I didn’t know too much about CRM systems, the role seemed like a great opportunity to learn more.”

Tells us about your Role?

“You get a great grounding in multiple areas- my role combines responsibilities from areas such as  business analysis, solutions architect, design, pre- sales and understanding elements of coding. The managers are really supportive here and help to focus on people’s strengths when thinking about a long term career. There are so many options in terms of specialising once you have an understanding of the various departments.”

So what does the career path look like at Redspire?

“I started out as an Analyst, and straight away its training heavy to make sure you pass your certifications. One those are done you can get more hands on. After this you can become a Consultant, this is much more client facing and you become involved in projects from the start. After that you can be promoted based on performance into Senior/ Lead Consultants and from there you have options to move around within the company, for example focusing on the Business side or the Tech side of the company or maybe looking more at Project Management.”

What is the working environment like?

“It’s a friendly chatty bunch, there is a good team vibe between departments and we have pretty regular social events to make sure it stays that way.”

Who do you think would this role not suit?

“Someone without a clear vision of where they want to go”

Any Advice for graduates interested in a role with Redspire?

“Do the research on the role…you need to want to do it so make sure you are prepared. In this role, you will be thrown in at the deep end…but you definitely have a safety net in terms of the support around you!”

Does this sound like a role you would be interested in?
