1. Can you tell us a little about your background before you joined the team at Nine Twenty?

I have over 18 years of experience working within the recruitment sector in variety of sectors starting in financial services, through to commercial, logistics and into wider manufacturing. My earlier career pre recruitment was in banking and insurance.

Like most people I fell into recruitment with a company called Anderson Knight however haven’t looked back since. Within two years becoming a manager to eventually running my own recruitment business at Titan before selling out my shares after seven years and then moved on to head up a team at First Achieve Recruitment. To now working with Karen and the team at Nine Twenty heading up Engineering and Manufacturing.

2. What attracted you to working with our team?

I was sold on the opportunity by Karen. The drive and passion that she has for recruitment and the excellent close relationships she has built with her clients. It seems like a great team and company to work for, and the variety of experience of people that work within the business.

The background and story to the company and all that both Karen and Gordon gave me was fantastic. Nine Twenty Recruitment is a company that I have admired for many years. The opportunity to have some flexibility in working from home or anywhere is appealing. I am delighted to be working alongside the driven and successful people that are here.

3. What does your role in the business involve?

I will heading up and managing the Engineering and Manufacturing team here and working closely with Karen to drive the business further to build on all the success to date.

4. What is your focus over the next 3 months?

I am really keen to get up and running, speaking and working with all our existing clients. Helping to deliver and build upon all the previous success and really get to know all of our key clients. As well as getting to know everyone within the business, learning new systems and processes.

5. Tell us more about who you are out of work?

Out of work I am proud Father to both my son Ciaran (18) and daughter Erin (15) and spending quality time with them and my partner Karen. For the past ten years I have been Youth Football Coach at Pollok Football Academy. Coaching kids from 6-years-old to under 19 level. I also sit as Trustee on the charitable board at Pollok Football Academy.

6. What is your biggest success so far?

Bit cringe, personally however, I would say being a proud Father to my two children Ciaran and Erin.
On a work basis, when I founded my own Recruitment business.

7. Describe yourself in 3 words?

Driven, Passionate and Fun.

If you are interested in getting in touch with Douglas, he would love to hear from you.
