Nine Twenty Technology are currently recruiting for a SQL Developer for our market leading software client.

This role will be to develop and administer key development projects to ensure continuity of service to clients as well as designing, developing and maintaining databases that hold and process huge volumes of data.

Main responsibilities will include:

  • Experience with queries running on several million rows
  • Knowledge of the best index practices
  • Knowledge on data type & collation pros & cons, when to use them
  • Experience in debugging own queries
  • Maintaining referential integrity
  • Knowledge in different types of JOIN operations
  • Ability to write readable, well-documented code
  • Systems monitoring, investigation of anomalies
  • Maintenance of system documentation
  • A good understanding of the software development lifecycle
  • Proven experience working in a support environment working to SLA’s
  • Implementation of self-established continuous improvement initiatives regarding systems and processes
  • Project support work to include data loading and migrations

 

The ideal candidate will need the following essential experience:

  • Strong SQL, MYSQL development experience for the end purposes of data analysis and visualisation, whether programmatically, or through presentation of data via packages such as R, SPSS or Excel
  • Exposure to some Junior Database Administrator tasks (MySQL, SQL Server, Oracle).
  • Scripting experience
  • Experience of working with databases in a commercial environment
