Assist in sourcing low cost feed stock materials (like Ethanol, PTA, and Catalysts… etc.) for the current manufacturing plants in Jubail and other future plants in Saudi Arabia and abroad. The candidate will be responsible for the strategic chemical feedstock sourcing of indirect categories of spend, managing the P2P process, providing specialist & professional procurement advice and communication, along with managing the strategic sourcing lifecycle, from supplier selection through to post-contract award, SRM and performance assessment. Working closely & collaboratively with key stakeholders for different sectors, as a Chemical Sourcing professional candidate will need to understand and influence different business demands by leading & supporting bid activity, identify process improvement opportunities, analyze information/data and report on findings, work on specific objectives & projects relating to cost savings whilst ensuring all practices/procedures are aligned to the business and are promoted through best practice procurement to deliver quality and value for money.
 

Education:

  • University degree or higher education (Master Sciences) in Technical, Scientific
  • University degree in business or administrative area

Work Experience:

  • Ten or more years in trading / purchasing function
  • Five or more years in the petrochemical industry

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities

  • Conduct market research to ascertain the availability of low cost/high yield feedstock; contacting (via telephone, email and site visits) relevant industries/companies to engage in initial introductory discussions and set up follow-on meetings.
  • Attend meetings with the view to arranging feasibility feedstock trials.
  • Agree contracts; including financials and off take arrangements.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with key suppliers.
  • Perform any other related duties as deemed necessary by management.

 

Desired Skills and Experience

·        Proven ability and knowledge of sourcing chemical feedstock and handling logistics supply as well as negotiating feedstock contracts

·        Relevant sourcing/procurement experience within chemical industry with a proven track record of delivering best value sourcing/purchasing, cost savings & vendor management across different indirect categories

·        Good analytical & negotiation skills, with tested methods and techniques, contract management and the ability to establish credibility at all levels

·        Deep interest and curiosity in developing sustainable business models to forecast feedstock markets based on Sipchem business plans.

·        Proven negotiation and influence skills

·        Commercially focused individual with well-developed social and communication skills

·        Proactively and can do mentality with the ability to think outside box

·        Fluent language skills in English are required

·        As a self-starter you will be commercially focused with a working knowledge of Forecast and advanced sourcing/procurement processes.
